Headless Babies

While drifting off to sleep last night, I was pondering the meaning of a childhood game of decapitating dandelions whilst singing "Mama had a baby and it's head popped off." Where did this song come from? How many other children around the U.S., nay, the World, sing this cryptic ditty? Do the new generation of squirts play this game, or do they even bother going outside to pick a dandelion?

I thought, hey that is pretty interesting. I doubt if anyone else has thought about this. Ha! I googled it and found, alas, it has already been discussed on someone else's blog. Hmph. Any one else play this game?

Decision 2006!

You know you are an old, crusty gen-Xer when you think, "which is hipper, the Volvo or the Suburu." Yes, it is time to get a new mom-mobile. Aaron and I have a fun little Mini Cooper S, which I drove up until I was 9 months prego and could no longer fit behind the wheel, and a Mini Van, which I now drive much to Aaron's delight since he took over the fun-mobile. So, now it is time to replace the mini-Van; that old beast which once upon a time hauled drums and guitars and amps, now it's groceries and baby. But wait! Aaron's drums are presently in the back of the van, so we are still slightly cool.

So, vote people! Volvo or Subaru (wagons, natch).
